Migration Guide

Enterprise accounts: Nothing changes on May 5 — you don't migrate automatically. Your account manager will reach out individually about your migration. Full details below ↓.

FLORA is moving to new pricing on May 5, 2026 (self-serve) and rolling from May 11 for Enterprise accounts. This guide covers what's changing, what it means for your account, and what (if anything) you need to do.

TL;DR

  • When: May 5 for most accounts. Enterprise accounts roll out individually starting May 11.

  • What happens: Your plan converts automatically. Billing date stays the same. Full new-plan budget unlocks on May 5 (even mid-cycle), and unused credits convert to extra usage on top. How it works ↓

  • Will you pay more? No. No current subscriber pays more than they do today.

  • Your credits: Convert automatically at $1 per 1,000 credits. Don't expire.

  • Launch bonus: Every migrated paid plan gets extra usage through at least July 1, 2026, plus unmetered Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2 in select windows for Pro and Max. See the Launch Bonus page.

  • What you need to do: For most users, nothing. Multi-seat workspace admins should read the section below.

What Happens on May 5

Three things happen automatically on May 5.

1. Your plan converts to the new equivalent

Your account moves to the closest matching new plan. See your situation below for the exact mapping.

2. You get a full new-plan budget — immediately

Your new plan's full monthly budget unlocks the moment you migrate, even if you're mid-cycle. Your billing date doesn't change — if you were billed on April 20, you'll still be billed on May 20. No extra charge for May 5, no reset to a new billing date. The new budget runs from May 5 to your next renewal, then renews normally on your existing schedule.

3. Your credits convert to extra usage

All unused credits convert to a dollar balance at $1 per 1,000 credits. The balance doesn't expire and sits on top of your monthly budget. Full details ↓.

Example: mid-cycle Studio user

You're on legacy Studio ($54/mo), billed April 20, with 30,000 unused credits.

Date
What you have

April 20

$54 charged, 60,000 credits issued (old Studio cycle)

May 5 — migration

Plan converts to Pro. New cycle (May 5 → May 20): $50 monthly budget + $50 launch bonus = $100 of usage. 30,000 unused credits convert to $30 of extra usage (no expiry).

May 20 — next bill

$50 charged on schedule. New cycle (May 20 → June 20): $50 monthly budget + $50 launch bonus = $100 of usage (bonus active through at least July 1). Whatever's left of your $30 extra balance carries over.

If You're a Solo User

Your plan moves to its closest equivalent on May 5. You'll pay the same or less. Your credits convert to a dollar balance. Your billing date and payment method don't change.

On top of the baseline above, every migrated paid plan participates in the launch bonus through at least July 1, 2026 — extra usage on every plan, plus unmetered Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2 in select windows for Pro and Max.

What you need to do: Nothing. Migration is automatic on May 5. You'll get a confirmation email when it's done.

If You're a Multi-Seat Workspace Admin

This is the section to read carefully. Two things change.

Which plan? This section applies to Starter, Studio, Scale, and custom multi-seat plans — workspaces that paid a single subscription covering multiple editors. If you're on Pro per-seat, Agency Standard, or Agency Elite, you were already paying per-seat — your team migrates directly to the equivalent v3 per-seat plan, no legacy contributors involved. Skip to the plan mappings for your migration path.

1. Your seats restructure

Today, your team works under a single subscription that covers everyone. After May 5:

  • Your admin seat moves to the closest equivalent paid plan.

  • Every other seat on your team converts to a new role called legacy contributor.

2. Legacy contributors keep working — for now

A legacy contributor is a teammate who had editing access on your old plan but hasn't been moved to a paid v3 seat yet. The role exists so we don't auto-bill you for every editor on your team the moment migration happens — your workspace keeps running as it does today, and you get time to decide who actually needs a paid seat.

What they can do. Everything they do now: full canvas, full collaboration, generation, MCP and API access. Their generations draw from your workspace's pooled usage budget, just like before. No new per-seat charge during the grace period.

What they don't get. Launch perks and seat-based bonuses go to paid seats only. Most notably, the unmetered Nano Banana windows don't extend to legacy contributors — their Nano Banana generations draw from the workspace pool even during the unmetered hours. If you want a teammate to get those perks, move them to a paid seat.

How long the role lasts:

Adding seats during the grace period

At migration, the billing admin becomes the admin seat and everyone else becomes a legacy contributor. Each new seat you buy converts one of your legacy contributors to a permanent (non-expiring) editor — you pick which one. You can't assign a fresh seat to a brand-new person until all your legacy contributors are converted or removed.

To free a seat for someone new before then, demote a legacy contributor to guest. Once all legacy contributors are converted (or removed), new seats can go to anyone you invite. See Seats for day-to-day mechanics.

What happens at the end of the grace period

Legacy contributor seats automatically convert to guest: read access and comments, but no generation or editing. To restore full access for a teammate, you purchase a paid seat for them.

This gives you months to figure out who on your team actually generates regularly versus who's mostly viewing — instead of being hit with a price change on day one.

Agency Elite specifics. Each seat you hold at migration is locked at your current Agency Elite per-seat price for as long as you stay on Max — a permanent discount. Seats added later, or any future plan change, use the standard Max per-seat rate.

For custom plans, the admin's seat moves to the closest plan at or below your current price — your monthly cost stays the same or drops.

Practical timeline

  • May 5: Your team can keep working without interruption, and you will not pay more than you do today.

  • During the grace period: Use Usage History to see who's actively generating. Plan paid seats for the people who need them.

  • End of grace period: Legacy contributor seats convert to viewer-only. Add paid seats as needed.

You can convert legacy contributors to paid seats earlier if you want — there's no requirement to wait.

If You're on a Multi-Seat Workspace (Not the Admin)

Nothing changes for you in the short term. Same canvas, same collaboration, same access.

If anything changes later, your workspace admin will handle it. They're the right person to talk to about future changes to your team's setup. If you have questions in the meantime, start with them — or contact us at [email protected].

If You're an Enterprise Account

Nothing changes on May 5. Enterprise accounts don't migrate automatically.

Your account manager will reach out individually to schedule your migration. The earliest Enterprise migrations begin May 11, aligned with your contract renewal, legal, and procurement workflows.

If you haven't heard from your account manager yet, you will. For urgent questions, reach them directly or email [email protected].

If You're a Creative Partner, Student, or Educator

Creative Partners

If you're a Creative Partner we'll be in touch directly about how this pricing change affects your account. Keep an eye on your email, or reach out to us on Slack with any questions.

Students

New students receive 6 months free on the Starter plan. If you're an existing student subscriber, your credits convert to extra usage at $1 per 1,000 credits and don't expire.

Professors & Educators

New professors receive 3 months free on the Max plan. If you're an existing professor or educator, your credits convert to extra usage at $1 per 1,000 credits and don't expire. We'll reach out directly about adding free collaborators to your workspace so your class can continue without interruption. Please email your FLORA contact directly with any questions.

What Happens to Your Credits

Same rule for everyone: $1 per 1,000 credits, converted automatically at migration.

  • Solo users: the balance lives on your account.

  • Multi-seat workspaces: the balance lives at the workspace level, shared across the team.

Your converted balance:

  • Doesn't expire.

  • Is consumed after your monthly plan budget runs out each cycle.

  • Carries across billing cycles (unlike monthly plan budget, which resets).

You can see your balance in Settings → Plan & Usage after migration.

What This Means for Your Generations

Per-generation rates dropped or stayed the same on most models, so your per-dollar value of generations improved or held steady on every plan. How that translates to monthly generation count depends on which plan you're migrating from.

If you were on Starter

Your subscription stays at $18/mo. Your baseline usage moves from 20,000 credits (≈ $20 at the migration rate) to a $18 baseline — and on most models, cheaper per-generation rates mean the new baseline already buys roughly the same as (or more than) your old credits did. The launch bonus brings you to $30 through at least July 1 — well above your old capacity.

New Starter ($18 baseline)
New Starter + launch bonus ($30)

Your subscription drops slightly ($54 → $50/mo) and your baseline budget drops a little (60,000 credits ≈ $60 of usage at the migration rate, → $50 baseline). Cheaper per-generation rates close most of the gap, and the launch bonus brings you to $100 through at least July 1 — well above your old capacity.

If you were on Scale

Your subscription stays at $200/mo (Max tier). Your baseline budget moves from 250,000 credits (≈ $250 at the migration rate) to $200 — about a 20% reduction. Cheaper per-generation rates partly offset this, and the launch bonus brings you to $300 through at least July 1, exceeding your old capacity.

What's Not Changing

Explicit list — things you don't need to worry about:

  • Your projects. All saved work, history, and assets stay exactly where they are.

  • Your techniques and workflows. Saved configurations carry over untouched.

  • Your billing date. Same date as today.

  • Your payment method. No need to re-enter card details.

  • Your team members. Everyone keeps their workspace access (with the legacy contributor change for non-admins on multi-seat plans).

  • FAUNA. Free on every plan, always — doesn't count against your budget.

  • Every model. All models are accessible on every paid plan.

Where to Look in the App

After migration, the place to check your specific situation is:

Settings → Plan & Usage

You'll see:

  • Your current plan

  • Your monthly budget and how much you've used (as a percentage)

  • Your reset date

  • Your converted credit balance (extra usage)

  • On-demand spending toggle and limit

The header of the app also shows a quick percentage indicator for your monthly budget at a glance.

If Something Looks Wrong

If your bill went up, your credit balance looks wrong, or anything about your account doesn't match what's described here — let us know.

  • In-app: the Report a migration issue button (available for 30 days post-migration)

  • Enterprise: your account manager
